It's still a great game and yes I know walking away mid game wasn't smart, which is why I rated it 5 stars. That, plus I knew I had spent too much time on it so I deleted it. I wasn't about to go back and start over at the beginning. If the game had manual savegames, I could have restored to a point in time, but since my progress was saved automatically, I was kinda done. This resulted in fines, which effectively put me in a position where I couldn't recover.

When I came back my oil wells were overflowing. I was in the middle of a level, pretty far in the game, and something called my attention away from the mac. It's maybe best described as a cross between dig-dug and a multitude of business simulators out there. Turmoil was a really fun game while it lasted - it's fairly easy to pick up (play the campaign which has a tutorial) The game does a nice job of only introducing things as they are needed.

Build a rig, create an efficient pipe network and bring up the oil to store it in silos. Lease land at the town auction and search for oil. As you make money digging up and selling oil, the town will grow along with you. Get a taste of the rush and rivalry of the time as you earn your way to become a successful oil entrepreneur. What does Turmoil do? Turmoil offers players a visually charming, tongue-in-cheek take on the simulation genre inspired by the 19th century oil rush in North America.
